My application is mainly street, so good torque and decent fuel economy is my goal (for now). I've been told this carb is too big for my motor and that a 650 cfm with vacuum secondary would suit it better.

It may be that once I strip it down I'll find it is over jetted for the street even though it is a big carb for that use.On a 4 screw carb. I'll probably do as suggested, insert stock jets and go from there. Enter the volumetric efficiency of the engine.Carb model is 4781-6 and vacuum reading is down at 5 which is a bit low from what I read for a Edelbrock performer cam and Edelbrock RPM manifold set up.

It's projected to push 450-500hp but of course with a smaller carb it'll only be in the 400 range unless im wrong.

I'm thinking a 600 or 650? 9:1 …Just wanted to know everybodys opinion on a good daily driver carb for my 383. I've got a new 750, but I'm certain that's too big. Carb for 383 For my 350 stroked to 383: The shop is saying the carb on it is no good.
